About
Tim Naughton is a revenue architect.
The short version: I build systems for stready compounding growth. Revenue Architect. AI Developer. First business hire at a $600M-valuation company & a successful exit.
I started in finance — ran the books at a venture-backed company, got pulled across the line into commercial leadership, and sold a company in 2017, before diving right back into the next venture (culminating in a $600M Series C). And I kept noticing the same pattern.
Every company I walked into had a revenue story built on effort. More headcount, more spend, more pushing. And every company I helped turn around got to the same place: stop scaling the effort, start scaling the architecture.
Since then I've raised $600k for a D2C brand in a vertical where that capital is scarce. Founded Heady — a venture studio & full-stack marketing agency. And launched multiple software tools (e.g. HeadyOS, ScrappyOS).
Bringing playbooks from the most margin-strapped industry to help small businesses do more with less.
Operating principles
Three things I believe about revenue.
01 · Architecture compounds. Effort taxes.
Effort-based growth is linear. It requires the same push every quarter to produce the same output. Architecture-based growth gets cheaper per dollar over time.
02 · Upstream decisions matter as much as marketing.
Offer. Pricing. Segmentation. ICP clarity. By the time a problem reaches paid acquisition, it's already been created three layers up. That's where I start.
03 · A good system makes the operator replaceable.
The goal of every engagement is to hand you something your team can run without me. If you still need me in 18 months, I failed.
